I also made this little fella for a series of pirate and princess characters that are going to go on some cardboard cupcake stands… you know the kind that you get flatpack these days? He’s the first and I’ve grown rather fond of him.
So today I’ve been trying to draw figs… pretty unsuccessfully I’ll add.
I’m working on some stuff for a new book for Le Pain Quotidien, some ‘reportage-y’ illustrations for some full spreads and some smaller spot ingredient illustrations for the recipe pages. If all goes well, there’ll be more on this soon!
This one made me a runner up for Creative Quarterly 24… YAY
This poster that I did for an advertising brief in the 3rd year has been chosen as a runner up for CQ24! All the winners will be printed in the CQ24 magasine in Autumn 2011, and all winners and runners-ups will be published online at the same time… how exciting!!
You can see my name hidden in amongst all the winners and other runner-ups here, if you are interested, which you are probably not, but it was quite exciting for me!
I got a very flattering mention in amongst the very flattering description of our degree show for Amelia’s Magasine! Have a look!
Motel Preview…
The university is starting an annual showcase of illustration 3rd year prints by creating a box set based on a specific theme. This year is based on motels. My image is about the fact motels are always built in the shape of an I and L or a U around the parking lot. Entitled I Love U. Get it?
It will be an 8 colour screen print. Why do I keep doing 8 Layer prints…
Personalized Rucksacks
I have made a couple of these personalized rucksacks now, as the first one that I made (for my dad) went down so well. This one is for my boyfriend Thomas White.
I developed the design myself and they are completely hand made and hand dyed (for a pre-worn look) from natural denim and recycled leather.
This summer, I am going make a lot of these to sell, as there has been a lot of interest in them since I started making them. Please do get in touch if you are interested in one. Prices start at £120.
Fear Screen Print
I spent today in the print rooms, doing the 2nd stint of an 8 colour print I’m working on to sell at our end of year show. A quick preview….
